Goddess Saraswati IV | 1894 | Raja Ravi Varma

Raja Ravi Varma | 1894

This vintage oleograph depicts Goddess Saraswati, the Hindu deity of knowledge, music, arts, and wisdom, seated gracefully in a natural landscape beside a river. Saraswati is shown with four arms, wearing a vibrant pink sari and an ornate crown. She holds a traditional stringed instrument (Veena), prayer beads (japa mala), and a sacred text. She is seated on a large rock outdoors near a flowing water body, accompanied by a peacock standing nearby, completing a serene and classical devotional composition.
