Dwarapalaka II

A beautifully polychromed wooden Dwarpalaka in the classical South Indian style, rendered in warm ivory and earthy tones with vivid painted detailing. The guardian deity is depicted in a graceful seated posture with wide ceremonial wings, intricate jewellery, and an ornate crown, his expression benevolent yet watchful. The rich multicolour finish — reds, greens, and gold — speaks to the vibrant temple craft tradition from which this piece originates. Mounted on a wooden platform base, it pairs beautifully with its ebony counterpart as a set.
