DeepLaxmi on Lions

A matched pair of classical South Indian bronze lwork sculptures depicting composite mythological guardian creatures (Yalis) serving as supports for celestial lamp-bearers (Deepalakshmis). Each sculpture stands vertically on solid black rectangular display plinths, combining a formidable four-legged beast base with a slender, tapering upper pillar column. The lower section features aggressive lion-griffin hybrids with broad, textured scales, flared nostrils, wide-open jaws exposing prominent teeth, and ceremonial harnesses adorned with hanging bells. Cast in a warm  bronze tone with a smooth, professional studio patina that catches even highlights against a neutral backdrop.
